Incursions for OOSH
WHAT WE DO
I've run G4 Guitar schools for the last 15 years, and have also worked as a carer for various OOSH centers around the Inner West, Northern Beaches, and Eastern suburbs for the last 5 years.
Working with kids in OOSH centers gave me a first hand experience of how limited options are for high quality incursions at a reasonable price and I knew that was a gap in the market that my skill set would be perfect to fill. Currently we offer musical holiday incursion programs for OOSH centers around Sydney.
The program involves a visitation to your centre, bringing instruments (ukuleles, egg shakers, cabasas) where we run multiple programs of up to 30 students at a time, dependent on numbers.
Uke and Percussion Workshop
The two modules focus on musical play using basic rhythm and singalongs.
Junior classes (4 -7 years), senior classes (8 + years) and mixed depending on numbers. Usually, we will several classes in a day. The sessions are programmed as follows:
Junior module:
1. Initial singalong to engage children
2. Basic rhythm work - clapping and counting
3. Familiarisation with both percussion and stringed instruments
4. Basic strumming and picking technique.
5. Play simple song.
6. Free play with ukulele and percussion instruments.
Senior module:
1. Initial singalong to engage children
2. Instrumental rhythm work - hand out shakers & cabasas
3. Hand out ukuleles - familiarisation with the instrument
4. Basic strumming and picking technique.
5. Basic chords
6. Song play through.
7. Free play with ukulele and percussion instruments
We focus on MTOP outcomes and building confidence in a musical context, giving kids the structure to then try out new ideas in a safe environment through musical play. We are committed to meeting the following:

Kid's Disco Parties
We bring all the fun an excitement of a disco party to your centre with your very Kid's Disco party! Make it an unforgettable experience for your kids.
We will provide:
- A DJ
- Lights
- a soundsystem
- A curated playlist of kid-safe songs
We'll bring it all together to make it an amazing event for your kids with our hour-long disco experience that will have them singing and dancing to their favourite tunes. All we need is an indoor space, a power point and plenty of kids!
REQUIREMENTS & PRICING
Aside from OOSH staff assistance to meet ratio numbers we require an open space, either a hall or outside area, with access to power, a comfortable mat for kids, a chair for the convener and of course, plenty of kids! We provide the rest, including shakers, ukuleles and the workshop equipment (a small amp and guitar for singalongs.)
All workshop conveners are covered by our public liability insurance and have completed their Working With Children Check.
To give kids the best opportunity, we prefer to run the workshops in smaller, classroom-sized groups, but we are happy to make allowances for larger groups attending the same session if there are time constraints. We only ask that you give us notice to ensure we bring an appropriate amount of equipment.
